Welcome to YourHappy.Pet! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website (https://yourhappy.pet) and the booking and provision of our professional dog walking and pet sitting services in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
By scheduling a meet & greet or booking services with us, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Service Provision & Requirements
- Initial Meet & Greet: A free in-person meet & greet is required for all new clients prior to booking any walks, drop-in visits, or overnights.
- Vaccinations & Health: All pets must be current on rabies vaccinations and free from active contagious illnesses. It is the owner's responsibility to disclose any physical or behavioral health issues.
- Behavior & Safety: We reserve the right to refuse service for pets that exhibit severe aggression or pose a physical risk to our team.
2. Home Access & Key Retention
For us to perform home visits, clients must provide reliable access to their home (e.g. lockbox, key code, garage keypad, or physical keys). Physical keys will be kept in a secure, unlabelled lockbox when not in use. We are not liable for home access lockouts due to incorrect keypad codes or mechanical lock failures.
3. Payment & Pricing
- Invoicing: Invoices are sent digitally and must be paid in full according to the terms listed on the invoice.
- Rates: Services are billed at the current rates shown on our website or detailed in your service agreement.
- Holiday Surcharges: A holiday surcharge may apply to bookings scheduled on major holidays (e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, Fourth of July).
4. Cancellations & Modifications
- Standard Walks & Drop-In Visits: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled visit for a full refund or credit.
- Overnight Care & Holiday Bookings: Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the start of the booking. Cancellations within 7 days may be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
5. Emergency Medical Care Authorization
In the event of an emergency involving your pet's health, we will make every reasonable effort to contact you or your designated emergency contacts immediately. If you are unreachable, you authorize YourHappy.Pet to transport your pet to your designated veterinarian or the nearest emergency animal clinic and authorize treatment up to the limit specified in your client intake forms. The client agrees to assume full financial responsibility for all veterinary costs incurred.
6. Limitation of Liability
We are fully bonded and insured for pet sitting and dog walking services. However, YourHappy.Pet is not liable for injuries or damages caused by pets to themselves or others while complying with the owner's instructions, nor are we liable for escape or injury of pets that have unsupervised access to outdoor yards (e.g., dog doors, open fences) between our scheduled visits.
7. Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising under them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after updates constitute acceptance of the revised Terms.
